Stress Busting Tips You Can Use Now
By Jim Cassa

These days we really need stress busting ways of living. It is true we have many things to be grateful for that we did not have a few hundred years ago. Modern appliances such as the common electric oven, hair dryer , and even the automobile. Can you imagine living life without this modern day technological wizardry? I can't. But not so long ago, oh say one hundred plus years ago, this technology would have been unbelievable. No automobile, no electricity, and you cooked your meals with gas if you were lucky. Yes our modern age is full of technological marvels that our ancestors did not have. And another modern day contender that our ancestors did not have is "Stress".

The ubiquitous stress of society. It's everywhere and in everything. It is there when you go to work, when you go shopping, and there is relationship stress. Not to mention financial stress! I don't know about you but sometimes I find it hard to cope. Stress overload is something I am more than familiar with. Doctors say it is bad for you. They say it is unhealthy. But it's hard to avoid in this day and age. A few years ago I decided to fight back. So here are my, and maybe even some of your, stress coping tips and comments. This little list in by no means the final word on the subject. I encourage you to add some of your own stress busters.

Stress Tip One. Make some small changes in the environment. Add things that calm you down. Take things out of your environment that stress you out. Add things such as putting on some slow and relaxing music. Classical or New Age is good. Calm music soothes you . Your brainwaves try to match the slow music. It's called the frequency following response and you can look it up for its full meaning. Take things out of your environment such as that cupboard full of clothes you have been meaning to clean out. You'll feel better when its done.

Stress Tip two. Some people have found that juicing calms them down. Just raw vegetable juicing. Hey just grab a carrot, a piece of celery , throw them into a juicer and drink. The health benefits of raw juices are many.

Stress Tip three. Do something physical . Even something as simple as go for a walk outside. Physical exercise moves a lot of the "stress hormones" around the body. You heard of the "fight or flight response"? It's just not polite to whack the boss over the head these days or even quit work and run a few miles. A walk before or after work anyone can mange. You will get the circulation moving . Get those "stress hormones" moving around the body so your body can use them up. The fresh air will help you too.

Stress Tip four. Go do some deep breathing exercises. I'm not kidding. The breath is linked to the emotions. Have a look at someone who is stressed out. Their breathing will be short, rapid and shallow. Then find someone who is laid back or serene. Their breathing will be long , slow, and deep. I'm telling you breathing and emotions are linked. Next time you meet an angry person check out the way he breaths.

Stress Tip five. Take a swim. When I can't get to a swimming pool I take a bath. Throw in some magnesium salt granules. Forty minutes in this kind of a bath and I feel like a new person. But don't take my word for it , try it out for yourself.

Stress is everywhere. We all need some way, technique, or method to handle it. You can put any label on it. My bet is that stress in not going to go away. I can't see that as an option. But there are many, very many ways and approaches to deal with stress. Only a couple are listed here. So if these do not work for you there are plenty more out there. Good luck with your stress busting
