Simple Ways to Get a Tan
By Zafran Rashid

For many people that enjoy having that sun darkened look without the burning or dangers, sun-beds and tanning booths have become the most popular method to have a year round tan. It has become a recognized fact that too much sun is dangerous for our skin and causes many problems which is why the new methods of artificial tanning have proved so popular.

Spray tanning is the latest of these and is becoming very popular as a safe method with produces excellent results without the danger. Originally it was the creams and bronzing lotions that were the most commonly used but spraying the tan on give a more professional finish.

Just to provide an even more convenient service, tanning systems manufacturers have introduced spray tanning equipment that can be used in the home. The methods of artificial tanning may differ but a guide to getting a good finish works with them all.

Probably the most important aspect and the first one to carry out is to get rid of the dead skin on your body by exfoliating. Fake tan applications that have been done without this vital step are easy to spot as the recipient has light patches in the tan where the dead skin has fallen of. Once that stage has been completed, the body needs to be moisturized all over.

Before applying a tan from a bottle or cream, ensure you are wearing gloves or the orange palms that will follow will give the game away. Also, apply lighter coats on the joints of your fingers, your knees, and your elbows as these areas will appear darker if you do not and the same applies to your feet.

When a spray tanning system is used a towel will be needed to wipe of any excess which could cause a streak. Try to stay as still as possible whilst any self tanning agent dries as it might smear and cause uneven patches.

Tanning agents of all types will leave stains on your clothing almost as soon as you put them on so consider what you intend to wear one you have finished. If possible always choose clothing that is darker and possibly something that is old and won't matter if stain is left on it. If you remember these few rules you should find that alternative tanning systems can be very effective and look just like the real thing.
