What you see - A welcoming green colored signboard greets you at the entrance - announcing not just Green Trends Beauty Salon, but also the existence of the 'Little Buds' Salon for children. In fact the section for little ones forms a colorful backdrop to the reception up front. Two blue sun shaped round mirrors face you from a wall full of colorful wall paper featuring cartoons of a dog, donkey, rooster and a little yellow plane flying amongst white clouds in a blue sky. It almost makes you wish you had some of this in your days. There are two different colored small, high parlor chairs to hold the fidgety young ones in place.
Except for this nook of the salon, all the other parts maintain a lime green color scheme uniformly. The waiting area is served well by a long cedar wood bench on one side and a five seater couch set on the other. This area stocks some newspapers and reading material as well as a showcase of five shelves of beauty products. Soft music plays through the speakers to keep you in good spirits.
What you get - The gents section to the left of the entrance is well served by four hair stations, one pedicure tub and seat and one facial chair. All fit in neatly in a room, beside which there is a private body massage room and wash room facility.
The ladies section is a three room affair, with the hair section having three chairs, and two pedicure stations behind them. There is a separate facial room adjoining this, as well as a separate body massage room. They also have a store to stock up all kinds of things they may need to satisfy customers.
Their services include hair cuts (Rs.70-150), hair streaking and coloring (Rs. 100-2,250), hair spa treatment and even a head massage (Rs. 125-175). They have body massage too from Rs. 500-750. Manicures are for Rs. 75 to Rs. 175 and pedicures from Rs. 150 to Rs. 250.
They have a good variety of facials (Rs. 250-2,000) including Strawberry, Red Banana and Avocado. Must try is their Paraffin Dip Pedicure and Pinacolada Pedicure (Rs. 250). The latter uses raw pineapple - a rich source of Vitamin D - that helps soothe tired feet and relax sore heels.
They also do bridal make up and have specialized services that can be availed of at any time and place, keeping in mind the traditions and customs of the people getting married. Price available on request.
Our verdict - If you want hygienic beauty treatments, this is the perfect place. They sterilize their combs and scissors in a Sterix hot chamber, and also disinfect aprons and wash towels after they are used once. Not many other beauty parlors can boast of doing the same. You can fix an appointment by calling them up before coming, just to make sure that you need not wait for long.
