The process of electrolysis hair removal has been used for many years and has proven to be very effective for permanent hair removal. It was used as long as 100 years ago for removal of eyebrow hairs. However, today you can use electrolysis to remove unwanted hairs from most parts of the body. You cannot use this method to remove it from the nose, ears or a mole.
Electrolysis involves using fine needle probes to kill the follicles. These needles do not pierce the skin. When the needle is in the right position in the follicle, an electric current shoots through the needle to completely destroy the hair follicle so that the hairs won't grow back. It is possible that you will notice some slight reddening when you first receive the treatment but the process is not painful. There are no bleaches involved and the process is completely safe.
There are three basic types of electrolysis: galvanic, thermolysis and blend. In the galvanic method, the electric current produces some lye. In the thermolysis method, a radio wave results from a heat current. The blend method, as its name suggests, uses a combination of both the galvanic and thermolysis methods. These methods are quite expensive and the number of treatments you need depends on the amount you want to have removed.
Although you can have the process done by a professional, you can also purchase a home electrolysis kit. In the home process, you don't use any needles, but use AC currents instead by using a tool similar to tweezers. If you are used to using tweezers to remove hair, you won't have any problem using the home kit. It is also quite small so you can take it with you when you travel.
